If the playoffs started today the 42's would grab one of the wild card slots along with their conference mate, the red hot Flying Fish, both are tied at 32-21, 5 games behind league leader Syracuse. 3 NL "B"east clubs would make the playoffs and continue to show why it is the best division in all of baseball. The East welcomes jayjaynyc, we are sure he is up to the challenge, those 6 first round picks don't hurt either!

Biggest Surprise - Torey Solano is 3-0 with a 2.37 ERA and 1.16 WHIP
Major Disappointment - Julio Segui leads the team in RBIs (on pace for about 140!) but his OPS is only .740

Max Guerrero was swapped to Portland straight up for Victor Colome this past week. The 19 yo former first round pick Colome hopes to be a utlity player for DC a few years down the line. Guerrero had a few good seasons for Washington (including a player of the week award!) but promotions squeezed him out of a starting spot and eventually even a spot on the ML roster. This is a fairly even trade that should benefit both teams.
