Optimism bounds in D.C. as the fans can sense what will may be the 42's greatest season in franchise history. After 2001 this franchise has finished last in the NL east every single season. 42's management has called up several of their top prospects from a loaded system and this group has catapulted the team into contention. Sitting at 4-7 at the time of the bulk of the callups the team has been 15-10 since.
1B Yamid Encarnacion, C Mateo Medrano, SS Abraham Frascatore, 2B/LF Max Guerrero, CF Jose Montanez, C Quinton Stowers and pitchers Matt Richardson, Sammy Henriquez, Barry Hall and Mendy Griffin were all called up and have put this team on the map as a contender, hoping to make bulls' next power poll!
Free agent signings Carlos James and Ewell Poole have contributed in platoon roles.
42's brass is also very excited about Rule 5 acquisition 3B Richard Perkins, whom they believe is a legitimate prospect and can contribute to a playoff run this season.
